VIBE double page spread analysis

The image above is of a double page spread featured in the music magazine VIBE. As you can see the imagery is more dominating in this article, I believe this is a key focus as it automatically attracts the reader and does not distress the reader with too much writing. The colour scheme uses rather solid simple colouring, for example, The large text 'USA' in the background uses a matte coloured shade which makes it stand out amongst the background but still keeps it ton with the bland colouring. The remaining text used is in a simple black font. The text uses a 'drop cap' which I believe allows a sense of professionalism to the text. The only striking colour in the text is the red and white striped flag in which Florence is sitting on, this is to reinforce the main text of the text 'USA.' Florence also has red hair which fits in nicely with the touch of red colouring on the page. There is serif writing used which adds a more traditional feel to the text.  The article is split into 3 columns which I believe splits up the writing and makes it seem less overpowering and overbearing.
